Your View: The Jamie Lynn Spears Debacle

I’ve debated and debated whether or not to bring this up over here, since I like to keep things light and beautiful and stylish. But I just couldn’t ignore one of the hottest stories out there, especially since the subject of this story is a teen.
So I’m asking you guys: What is your view on Jamie Lynn Spears? How do you feel about her pregnancy and, at only 16, her choice to keep and raise the baby? Do you think other teens will learn from J.L.’s experiences, or do you think it might give girls the false idea that pregnancy is no big whoop and that maybe it’s even glamorous?

its her choice.
my friends sister had a baby and shes like, 15. shes living with it, and we live in republicansville.
its not big deal, teens have children all the time.
if anything she might be able to raise them right unlike alot of pregnant teens.

Kids dress like pole dancers at 10 years of age, beauty contests tart children up to look like banal grown women at 6, it’s a land of superficiality and crassness, even Disney shows have 8 year olds pursuing the opposite sex as if they were 20-childhood is treated as if it should be quips and romance. It’s no wonder kids are having kids. And by the time they’ve watched 600,000 commercials by the time they’re 15 their brains are softened, their sensibilities are blunted and they think “Halloween” is a classic. I am so sick of seeing kids dress up and act like they’re 25.

Oh, and I guess such a thing as Jamie having and keeping the baby might alert some kids to the realities of having sex and the problems it can bring. Maybe some little girls will see it and think. I don’t think it will cause little children to start willy-nilly having babies.

I think its great she decided to have the baby and take care of it. Unfortunately, with kids now days they will look at it as if she can do it so can I. They aren’t thinking that she is a millionaire and the $300,000 she is about to spend over the next 17 years is chump change (thats about the average cost to take care of a kid). I think she will make it look to easy and with her being a role model it’s just not a good message to send.

Nobody is talking shit about her. 16 year old kids are not supposed to be making their own choices. that’s the problem- everyone thinks it’s their right to make choices from the age of10 on. It isn’t. Choices are something you get when you’re an adult and you are totally responsible for yourself and your choices- and when you’re old enough to be taking on the responsibilities and the cost of having, and trying to raise children. Until then your life does not belong to you- if it belongs to a 16 year old then why not a three year old? If you’d been raised right you’d know this yourself already. Street slang has no relationship to maturity- unfortunately it passes as rational thought with far too many young people today. Young people who are busily making a mess of their lives before their lives have hardly started even. I think Jamie has done a very stupid thing that if she’d had good parenting she wouldn’t have done. Even without good parenting if she’d had more common sense she wouldn’t have done it. And she’s got it a lot easier than most girls because she’s got plenty of money- most young girls who make a baby don’t have any money or have very little. They and their baby are going to suffer– and it isn’t hating on anybody to say the truth.

well in my opinion i think that she should have been more responsible since she was on o kids tv show and kids really do looked up to her so they might go off and do it!!

I think that life happens, and I’m glad she is keeping the baby. Keeping it just sets a good example for teen moms everywhere. Way to go, Jamie Lynn!

so what she 16 shes not the first 16 yr old in history to have a baby. i had my daughter when i was 16 and i think that if other 16 yr olds think that its ok to have a baby that young theyre stupid cuz i does take alot to raise a baby. Jamie Lynn can AFFORD to take care of her baby and i think its great she did cuz it was HER choice. so to anyone who thinks its cool to have a baby while in high school YOUR AN IDIOT and most likely will have to drop out of school to get a job and barely make it cuz your NOT RICH.
